• MIM/TDR grants 2008 selection process ongoing:  In response to the call for letters of intent issued in July, 34 letters of intent were received from 12 countries [Burkina Faso (1); Cameroon (4); Democratic Republic of Congo (1); Ethiopia (4); Ghana (2); Kenya (2); Mali (3); Nigeria (10); South Africa (1); Togo (1); Uganda (2) and Yemen (1). Eight letters have been short listed after a review by experts in the field based on feasibility and relevance of the work proposed, potential contribution of new knowledge and capacity building content.

Calls/Deadlines

• 15 September 2008: Call for letters of interest: Research Grants from MIM/TDR
• 15 December 2007: Submission of full proposals.
  Call for letters of intent: "Effective Use of Malaria Control Measures in Africa". The deadline was 31 August 2007. MIM/TDR is preparing a short list of letters of intent for further development into full proposals. Only authors of short listed letters of intent will be notified in September 2007. Full proposals must be submitted by December 15th, 2007 and will be reviewed in March 2008
